Islands Cres & Losinj
These two islands connected with a bascule bridge make an interesting and a very attractive whole for tourists. On Cres you`ll be delighted by the natural phenomenon of the freshwater lake Vransko and the habitat of rare and protected species of eagles (griffon vulture) and a great contrast between its north part, with dense oak and chestnut forests, and its south part dominated by the Mediterranean vegetation and pasture grounds. Although its name doesn`t suggest it, Mali Losinj (Small Losinj) is the most inhabited town of Croatian islands and with its long tourist tradition and rich offer it presents an attractive holiday destination. Somewhat more south the island of Ilovik, with its tame bays and protected from all winds, is especially attractive for boaters.
